Welcome to the "28-Day Speaking Challenge" FAQ / Info Page!
As a highly-valued member of KDA (past or current), we cordially invite you, and strongly encourage you, to give serious consideration to this new program if despite your efforts, you still struggle with getting the words to come out of your mouth. You “study”, you “learn”, you put in the effort... but you don't yet get to enjoy the rewards of that. Let's turn it all around, and finally make that effort count...
Below is an intro video (which you need to watch at least the first 50 seconds of once), and then below that is a bunch of information based on questions people have. If after reading that, you still have questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Because you are, or have been at one point, a member of KDA, we are offering this program at an insanely low introductory price, so definitely worth checking things out and deciding before that goes away, which it will after this round of registration, and as we roll it out to non-members.
Note: registration closes Thursday, May 7th
(and "Day 1" will start Monday, May 11th)
Here's some general info...(more specific info just below)...
At a very "high level", this program is for anyone who struggles to get words to come out of their mouth, to have conversations, despite all the time spent "studying" and "learning". For people who have proven they are willing to put in the effort to learn, but are tired of not getting the results to show for it.
We are going to provide daily steps that people can do at their own pace, and that fit into and around their daily lives, that will put a large focus on output (targeted speaking practice), so that we can focus on and actually notice improvement and progress, often in a single day, and over the course of a week and the full 28-days.
It's meant to show people what's possible when you do things this way, and provide a proven plan you can follow forever, no matter what resource you choose to learn from in the future, be it a book, a class, an online program, whatever.
Again, that's a very general, "high level" description, so I have put answers to more specific questions people have had. Please check those out, and if you have any other specific questions about any of this that are not addressed below, please let us know (either via email, or the KDA facebook page messenger).
Thanks! We hope to see you in the program, and look forward to hearing about your results at the end of the 28 days!

As a "thank you" for being a member of KDA, as always, you get our best rate, which will never be offered to anyone again after this.
We’re definitely reaching out now to other people that have joined other programs with us, and they’ll get the same offer this time around, but once it gets rolled out fully, our plan is for it to be a $197 to $297 (to $497 potentially - we really want to be super effective and "course correct" people's strategies and learning approach forever).
But for right now, as a “thank you” offer to you, you are welcome (and encouraged!) to join at 75% off that... a single, one-time payment of $47.
To be perfectly honest though, I actually hesitate to put it that low, for the only reason that I don’t want people to be mistaken about what we’re putting into this program.
This program can and will change people’s learning path forever. It will shortcut you path, and it will remove a lot of the unnecessary spinning of the wheels, putting in the effort but getting relatively little for it.
That kind of activity is exactly what leads many to thinking “this language is too difficult” or “maybe I’m just not meant to get this”. Please excuse my French, but it’s bullshit and it's unnecessary, but unfortunately it’s a path many are lead down (usually unknowingly, often to all parties involved, both teacher and students).
Registration closes on May 7th, and "day one" begins on May 11th.
This is not a program you have to attend at a specifically-set time. It can (and actually SHOULD) all be done on your own time - which we help with - and at your own pace. That said, there are also some "pre-challenge" videos to watch prior to the start, and some steps to do before the program starts (including establishing your "starting point" in terms of the content you're going to use to apply the daily steps to), so registering earlier will be beneficial.
The reality is, you do not need to have ANY fluency whatsoever. In fact, the less you have, the more opportunity you have to see improvement almost immediately, so that is not a concern at all.
What I will say about this though, is that I think a person (to get the most out of this) does need to be able to read Korean before starting this.
As always, I strongly encourage learning to read and write to be the first thing anyone should do, and this case is no different. But after that, someone could be just starting out in the language and this program will benefit them greatly.
The reality is, this program is meant to help people make progress in their speaking NO MATTER how much time they have to put towards it (in fact, this stuff becomes even more crucial if your time IS limited).
Different days require different amounts, which I'll provide more specifics on just below, but even if someone can't finish an entire day's step in one day, that is okay. But to get on the most efficient path possible, one that allows you to make progress and that fits into and around your current life, the process should still be applied.
All that said, to provide some more specifics, the longest a single day might take is about one hour if you were to sit down and do it all in one go, but TWO important things about that:
- No step requires you sit down and do it all in one go. A large part of this program is helping you understand how to do the steps in your "down time", utilizing times of the day you might not normally, so that it doesn't actually take much time out of your day at all. And...
- There's actually only one or two days of the whole week's worth of steps that would even require that really; most only require 30-40 minutes tops, spread out throughout the day.
For example, days 4 to 7 really only require small 5-10 minute intervals, 2-4 times throughout the day. Basically, as the week goes on (and your ability to speak your target material goes up), the time required to do it each time goes down, so it gets shorter and shorter as the week goes on and your ability improves.
To summarize, and I can't reiterate this enough... if you need to take longer, take a couple days to finish a single step... THAT'S IS 100% OKAY! There is a lot of flexibility with the process, and it is designed to fit into and around your life.
Of course it's totally up to you, but the short answer is yes, absolutely. This program is a very different program from our other programs, and is actually designed to be a perfect complement to all of them ( the weekly group sessions, 1-on-1 classes, and the "Go at Your Own Pace" program... or any other material or resource you'll ever use in the future for that matter!).
It is a set of daily steps to do to help you "acquire" the language (the "input" phase), and then take specific and deliberate steps to develop (and retain!) the ability to say everything you learn... what I call the "output" phase.
And all of these steps can (and actually SHOULD) be done on your own, and can be done at your own pace, so it's a program meant to help you improve no matter what your lifestyle, schedule, or "time restraints" might be like as well.
